Sorry about that, let me continue. Immediately I went on line and ch
ecked the sympyoms on several sites. Everything points to Velvet so I turned the lights out and medicated the water with Anti Velvet medication. Since then he has stayed hidden and I have only seen him twice, tonight being one of them. He is now going a kind of grey colour and the dust has been replaced with what looks like a grey film. His fins are clamped down and he can't swim very far. Should I do a 30% water change and medicate again? The medication says wait 7 days before the water change and re-medication but I don't think he will last that long. I have attahed a picture, not great quality but if you know what a Clown Loach looks like you will see what I mean. The Sucking Loach beside him and none of my other fish are showing any symptoms.
Please Help.

Thanks,
Mark :alien: :dunno:

Oh no, it's too late. Got up this morning and unfortunately he was dead. All my other fish are fine, but if anyone can help with the diagnosis I'd appreciate it.

Thanks :alien:

hard to tell from the picture, could have been velvet or whitespot... both are usually sure killers for Clown Loaches :(

The dust looked yellow, but then I didn't see him for 3 days by then he had a greyish white film on him, that was about 3 30 am Friday morning. When I got up at 10am he was dead. It wasn't white spot, the grains were far too small. The dust certainly looked like velvet but I've only ever seen pictures of it.
He was my pride and joy, don't know whether to replace him or not.

Thanks for the help folks,

:alien: :rip:

Sounds like it was velvet, sorry for your loss, you might need to treat the whole tank with a velvet med.
