My own place!!! Niagara Falls, Ont.
This is what I cleaned off my plants in hair algae about ten minutes ago... I can't for my life figure out why it just won't go away! It's slowly driving me crazy, I usually do a couple q-tips a day to get rid of it. Light's usually not on longer than ten hours, and I'm not running Co2 anymore cos my plants were growing faster than I could keep up with them..

It could be that since you turned off the Co2 and your plants are no longer growing as fast, the algae is now able to use up the left over nutrients that your plants can no longer utilize.

Good luck!

I completely agree. You have upset the balance you once had. Fast growing plants are algae's worst enemy.

Is hair algae the same as blanket weed?If so you have not got very much compared to me, but you have my sympathy. Somebody please help. When I had this in my pond I put barley mats in and it cleared, but I do not think that barley mats are safe in an aquarium. I say again help please.

i can second that, i have just got a lot of hygro and no algae as yet

Hmm.. I guess I'll have to get the Co2 up and running again.

Water params are all 0 except nitrAtes, those are about 5-10ppm.
And I've got anacharis, anubias, hornwort, rotala indica, moneywort, and red ludwigia.
