I can't figure out if this if fin rot or not. I've heard some people say that black edges on the fins is the start of fin rot. My betta has had it since I got him about 2-3 weeks ago. It seems to be more black than before although I am not sure. This is how his tail looks:

Btw, he doesn't get stuck in the plant. He just rests himself there. He seems to really like it since that's where he sleeps and hides.

Its hard to say but i would say that it is just his natural coloring in this case; fin rot tends to have white/grey edges on the fins rather than black.

No true.

Fin Rot can be black, it just depends on the color of the fishes fins.

It's hard to tell from those photos....but if it is fin rot...they will be black and start "shred" the ends of the tail...it's pretty noticable.

After fin rot goes away is when you see the white/clear edges...that is the new growth starting.

Also with finrot the colour will fade to a whitish colour.

It does fade. It has black on the edges and then it goes to clear. It doesn't seem to be shreding though. I do have salt, bettafix, and melafix.

I would try some melafix.

Thanks
When I do the melafix, would I be doing water changes everyday or wait till the treatment is done?
