 Well, I made the common mistake of trying to rescue a Betta from the local Wally World (aka Walmart). Well, I see he has a white patch on the top of his head. Looks like Dropsy: bloating of scales making the fish look like a pine cone. I bought Jungle brand Fungus Clear, put Blue Fish in a ten gallon sick bay tank, and put a tablet of the Fungus Clear in there, and some Betta Fix. Does anyone know what might work the best, or about how long my mix might take to help my Betta out? Now my tank is stained blue...lol. But the fish likes the new bubbler, the live plants, and the space. He keeps playing in the bubbles.

I would imagine it'll take a good few days for it to clear up. I personally love the Jungle brand. I have a variety of meds and stuff from their line and it's worked the best for me.

The white patch on the top of the head is columnaris, and if the fish is bloated and the scales are prutruding outwards that's the last stage of dropsy i'm afraid, you could try an antibiotic like tetracycline.

Yeah - as Wilder said, if he's to the pineconing stage, the end may be near for him.
If it's at all possible for you to get your hands on some colloidal silver, that is the only thing that I am aware of that will surely take care of dropsy, and even then it's possible it might be too far gone. YOu could also try Maracyn 2, but I think dropsy is pretty fatal :(

Best of luck to you.
