Here is my new setup for african cichlids. There is nothing in it at the moment but I have two Bristlenos Plecs reserved to tidy up and will be getting the Cichlids at the end of the month.

what size is it? I would recomend some more rocks, but it is looking good!

if there is alot on the bottem, adding more to the top should be fine, You should probebly contact people that have African tanks to see how to get them not to fall apart. Some people would recomend using aquarium sylicone, but with the Africans I wouldnt incase you need to change the territories around.

plus when you add them in you should remove the fish and change it up. Some peoples have been killed by not doing that. Good luck with getting everything set up and with the fish.

btw, do you know what kind you are doing?

Off to a good start, definately need more rockwork though

We have an african tank and have loads of rocks. you shouldn't need to get silicone, we just put the biggest on the bottom and built up the rest on top. If you get rocks with a bit of a rough surface like Tufa (which will also help buffer up the Ph and Hardness) or Lava they can grip onto each other and will be plenty stable enough.
Tufa and lava have lots of holes in too, and if you have an airstone, all the bubbles go through the rocks everywhere, which is cool!
There's some pics of my tank in here somewhere if you wanna have a look!

That looks awesome! Remember when you're adding rocks to rinse and scrub well and try to find the natural joining points like a jigsaw, it will be much more stable that way. It might take a little playing around with though.

Tanks for all of the advice. I will get some more rocks at the weekend (although probably the normal kind as I am not paying the prices they want for lava rock etc!).

I always wash the rocks thoroughly before adding them (kind of obsessed with that! :D )
