Lil Mo the gudgeon , and Big Red the jewel cichlid .
It is not advised to keep a gudgeon with a Jewel cichlid , but given the jewels age and his well behaved demeanor over the last few years , we're going to give this a shot , the jewel has been in with rainbow cichlids 1/2 his size for that last five months with all good behavior

Thanks DD ,

He's either Hemichromis cristatus , or H. bimaculatus , leaning toward cristatus , sold to me as a neon jewel in either 1998 or 99 . He's up there .

He's a good old boy

He was lighter a few year ago

Great pics, as always!

The Jewel is incredible! :flex:

What cichlids do you keep your Ctenopoma with?

I'm thinking of moving mine to my cichlid tank.

Thanks comet ,

Right now my son is keeping the Cteno in with some Rainbow C's he's [ Dwarfs ]raised up from fry , both Ctenos and the rainbows are around the 2 1/2 " mark give or take . 3 ctenos , 6 rainbows .

Also in that tank is the Uaru ,at just over 3 " .

He has plans of rearranging things when the fish get a little bigger .

that jewel looks exactly the same as mine, except i think mine are smaller

awsome fish

i didnt think you even kept tetras or gouramies

Thanks guys ,

Fufanu that Jewel is a little over 6" believe it or not .

And yes we have some main stay aquarium fish as well  , promise you won't tell anyone   .

mvm , Those gudgeons are becoming a little more popular near me , when I was a kid I never saw anything like them , this guy in particular is very entertaining.

Thanks for looking
