Here are a few pics of the 6" V. bifasciatus I currently stock. These are the purple headed race. Sadly, they will be going out in a shipment tomorrow so I thought I would get some pics first....

i wish i was in america when i see fish like thease. be glad im not i would prolly be bugging you for fish all the time they all look like show fish i try and keep mine in good condition but people round here keep slamming doors :ggr well not anymore not so much anyway something crossed my mind i have several of the more common cichlids i feed them tetra prima after switching from aquarian flakes but what do you feed them? and do you think it makes a difference?

Proper diet is essential in a fishes growth. If a good and varied diet is not provided when they are young, they will survive, but not thrive!!!

Aquarian flake food is a very good food. I used to use it. I use a number of different foods......a basic cichlid flake, earthworm flake, brine shrimp flake, vita-boost flake. I buy my foods in 5 and 25 pound bulk containers. It's way more economical this way.

I also feed fresh veggies and fruits as well as freeze dried krill, frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms.

At times, I think my fishes monthly food bill is more than the food bill for my wife and I combined!!!

thanks for the kind words, Jamnog...........

One of the keys to having "show" quality fish is knowing what to keep together. The fish in the above picture are in a 70 gallon tank by themselves. i brought in a total of 12 at an average size of 6".

In order to keep fish looking there best for resale, the fish must be in perfect or near perfect condition. This means no ripped or torn fins or missing scales.

It is very time consuming and requires many large tanks to bring in larger specimens and keep them looking their best until their sold.
