Tank refurbishment!!

Haven't been on here for ages, I'd forgotten what a good forum it was! Anyway... after working away for months on end, I TOTALLY neglected my tank

and it became an awful mess. So now that I'm not working away any more, I've had a mammoth clear up and have redone it, pulling out all the rubbish, cleaning up and replanting.

This is what it looked like BEFORE - I was soooooooo ashamed of it....

I wonder if anyone could help me ID some of the plants? I know I've got a couple of varieties of Anubias, some Java fern, some hairgrass, some Hygrophilia, and an Amazon sword. Any idea what the back left one is, or the tall spiky grass, or the coloured one bottom right? You can see the coloured one a bit better in this:

Yes it did! - though there were some interesting "algae sculptures" there!

The big one in the middle looked like a dinosaur eating something from the surface!!

The grassy plant in front is actually not hair grass (eleocharis sp.) but microsword (lileopsis, spelling?) species. You should spread the plant out, and it will eventually carpet.

The plant in front of the log on right does look like another anubias var.

The colorful stem plant on the right is a ludwigia sp. most likely-- move it to the back I would say.

The tall grass looks like a terrestrial plant, not sure . . .

I'll do as suggested and spread the microsword out, and I'll see if I can find room at the back for the possible ludwigia.

I'd love to have seen a pic of a tank that looked worse, CTS! Horrible wasn't it - trouble was, as I was away so much, it got steadily worse, and of course the worse it got, the less I wanted to do anything about it!! Glad I've got the time now!
