Looking good, dont forget the update pics, it gives some of us a goal in life lol

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Tear-scar - What do you mean by BB algae? Good luck with it anyway. I'm going to get some Amano shrimp too (Caridina japonica) after my Angels have gone. Hopefully they'll solve potential algae problems in the hairgrass.

Black Beard Algae . . . actually, I'm not sure-- there's only a little bit of it, but it's pretty thick and gross.

I think the shrimp I added were caridina simoni, sri lanka shrimp. They're mostly transparent, but have a bluish-hue unlike wild neocaridina denticulata (wild form cherry) which are sold all the time in our local shops. Some of the females have a nice black color though:

FYI, I also have crystal reds in the same tank, and they . . . well, suck at algae eating.

The new shrimp are going at it though, so hopefully I will be saved. :/

just a couple quick random questions gf225....

how often do u clean your windows of algae so that it looks that crystal clear...

and how often do you see your otos in that tank? lol,
the reason for the 2nd question is that i have a tank with quite a few plants, but they always seem to hide within the water wisteria, and i never see them doing their algae sucking...

Hi Panboy - I clean my front glass once a week although it doesn't get that bad, I'm just a perfectionist!! I have 5 Otos and hardly ever see them, only if I put out an algae tablet.

Here's a frontal pic. You can see the Angels are spawning again, they used to do it every 10 days but it's much rarer now. I think the planting is restricting them, one of the reasons I'm re-homing them and getting a big shoal of Cardinal Tetras instead. I'll have about 25 in all, can't wait. I think they'll make the tank look a lot larger. I will miss the Angels though, I've seen them grow a lot and I'll never forget the first time they spawned.

Hi Gf225,

Hairgrass looks well good, nice planting job

Where did you purchase the grass from and has it got a latin name for me to look up. What other lawn like plants would you recommend.

Cheers
