I found these little clear things on the front and back and somtimes on the sides too. They are like little hairs that move from the water current. I would appreciate any suggestions on to get rid of them I suppose I can just take a sponge and scrub them off.

I'm getting them too at the moment, although i do not know what they are. I just scrapped them off with an algae magnet. Should do the trick.

I think they are Hydra~
Here's a description in one of my fish books~
In Greek mythology, the hydra was a nine headed sea monster- in the tank it looks like a miniature sea anemone. It is a simple polyp with a cylindrical body from which grow tentacles. These wave about in the water attempting to catch prey such as daphnia or newborn fry. They move about by a tumbling action. Disturbed, they retract into formless blobs. They are dangerous only to small fish but they look unsightly. As they are carnivorous, the simplest way to eliminate them is to eliminate all live food. Avoid feeding daphnia and similar foods until they disappear.

Looks like heating up the tank will get rid of them.. I have my heaters all the way up, hopefully that will get rid of them. They are so unsightly.

I wonder if having the light on for too long could have created them.

Hey... I have them too.. i've studied them under a magnifying glass quite a bit... and i'm almost 100% certain they AREN'T hydra!

Hydras have chunky bodies and very thin tentacles and are around 1-2cm long.

The things that we have are only around 1-2mm!

I couldn't say for sure what they are, but some type of bacteria is my only guess!
