A left to right view ( sun's on the left, cuts down on the flash)
This photo. what plant is that at the top? How do you stop it going into the filter? I am trying to find that answer for ages with my floating indian ferns

As messy as your plant is I've realized it's actually one of the most natural, because I wouldn't expect things in nature to grow as most other tanks we see do, yours looks much more natural. I think you can complete the look with a background!

I worked pretty hard to get the right "messy" look and wanted as natural a look and feel to the tank as I could achieve. I need to prune the hornwort and rotala but that can wait until next week. You're right about the background and have been working on one, but it's not quite there yet.

Try juwel aquarium backing £8 a sheet. You will need 2 of them like me. But you will have to cut one in half.
It looks real and plecs sook the algea from the grooves.

Hey there, lovely planted tank.

Before i read any of the following threads my thought was that if you put a dark background in there it would really set it off.

Seems you are already thinking about it, it will look even better though.

Can you take some shots without flash? I find using the tank lights is much better, and taking shots with flash often (as in these shots) takes away from the beauty of plants and the planted aquaria.

I've been trying to get better shots but can't seem to get the camera to work without the flash. Pics end up toooooo dark and even after editing, pretty bad. Took a few tank shots today but kept getting the flash off the glass. I'll keep trying. regards
