I lost 3 more last night, hopefully most these will make it...just a couple more small weak ones.

You can start to see their colors....and the body shape is starting to change on a couple of the bigger ones.

Hi Mama

Nice to see them turning into proper little angels.

(at two weeks+ fed on freshly hatched brine shrimp mine tend to be a little bigger)(Not that I am boasting)

Keep up the good work.

Thanks Tanked!

Dolphin......not at all........I am hear to learn, and I really appreciate your mentoring me!
I will be using fresh brine shrimp next time for sure, I am also going to find another place for my hatch-out tank...it is on a stand, 10 gal on top shelf and the 5 on the bottom about 6 inches from the floor....it is really hard to see what is going on in there! I have to lay on the floor to feed, clean and what ever else while kids are jumping all over me....for some reason they think when mom or dad is on the floor...it is play time on jungle gym parents! :fun:

It is really funny....I gave one of my pairs to my friend....and they are raising their own babies...none of mine will!

I am glad she finally has a pair...she got me into this over 10 yrs ago....and she always wanted a pair, and could never come up with one, so she deserves it!

so do think that my fry died because they didn't get enough nutrition?

I will take any advise you have for me!
Thanks......again!

Hi Mama

Thanks for the dolphin,

I love it

It is never easy to say why fry die. They do have a habit of doing it. I had some fry the other day that were one day from free swimming, about 150. The next day when I expected to see them all been herded by the parents, there were only about 50 left. Where the others went too is a mystery, as the parents never eat there eggs or young. The remaining fry are all feeding well and no more have disappeared.

On another occasion I had a tank of about 500 fry, all doing nicely. The level of the water rose so that the cover glass was under water. 400 fry died due to not been able to get to the water surface.

Breeding fish is not straight forward. Learn from your mistakes, and let others know what you did wrong, so that they do not have to.
