New little girl

These pics are a bit fuzzy-she is very active!! When she's resting she's in the curled up leaves of the silk plant and impossible to see. Anyway, she's kind of a purple color when the light hits her just right. I got her at Petco. She's little-maybe an inch long or so. How old do you think she is? How big do they get? Also, is this a basic veiltail girl? That's the only type of males they carry but I wasn't sure about females or how to tell what kind they are (I did read the pinned topic but still can't tell).

The female VT Betta I gave my girl friend is very cute. If you watch your fish close I think you will find she behaves rather differently form the males.

Thanks everyone. Of course I think she's adorable and I wish now that I had bought some of her tankmates (they had several females in one tank). She's feisty too. I got some ghost shrimp along with her and she and the biggest one go head to head sometimes. I have the feeling he'll be her lunch one of these days. Strangely she never bothers the 3 smaller shrimp-just the big one.

When I saw her at petco the guy there told me that someone had bought up all the more colorful ones earlier in the week and no one had really given the rest a 2nd look.

From the pix uve posted, i would say shes a delta tail, as its such a wide span, that looks abit longer than usual. but without her flaring its very hard to tell.

Hope shes settling in nicely with her new friends!
