heres a close up of the guys cute little things
going to all the trouble to give em sand is worth it, its so cute to see them digging in their noses and looking for food
Layering very different types of substrate rarely lasts long. The activities of gravity, the fish, plant roots and your own maintenance tend to mix it up.
yup im having a hard time keeping the sand on top but i found a temporary solution and maybe it might help other peeps it doesnt work that great but so far so good, its been going on for a month now and i clean my tank every week
i use a relatively wide gravel cleaner and it tends to agitate the sand only and if every i have to suck into the layer deep the gravel tends to sink faster than the sand but it doesnt work really well
thanks, i purchased it from a lfs here in the philippines, that kinda sand is fairly common here we call it "boracay" sand after the beach where the sand is super fine and super white .... i need to go back to boracay !!!!
heres a pic from boracay i took of the sand i collect pics like these, smiles in the sand haha
I added sand at the front of one of my aquariums where the gravel was low, but yeah it doesnt stay that way for long and gets mixed with the gravel, still doesnt look too bad.
