Make sure the water stays warm enough... I try to keep mine around 78. Also, make sure the bowl is at least 1 gallon, and change the water every 2-4 days. I don't know what you are feeding yours, but I feed mine Hikari Betta Bio-gold, 2-3 pellets twice a day. About once a week, I replace that with freeze-dried blood worms as a treat. He loves those. And, if you use gravel, make sure you rinse it well before using it... the dust from the gravel will make the water cloudy if you don't.thecloudpainter said:
Hey all...
Oh gawd... I feel like such a heel...
a target of marketing ploys...
Okay - so I'm going to get a fishbowl just
for Our Gardener, and see how he does.
Just put a lil gravel on the bottom, use aged
water and feed him whenever he is hungry.
I believe I may have it now... I think...
Thank You for everyone's kind help...
wish The Gardener & I good luck.
Happy Holidays All!

It happens to the best of us, especially when just getting into the hobby. Don't feel badly. The more you know about your fish the better they will respond as well. I hope everything is turning out alright! When you have time, please update us on how he's getting along after the bowl changethecloudpainter said:

Hey all...
Sadly, my wonderful lil Gardener didn't make it...
I'm taking a short break, then will start looking around
for a new gardener, this time - making sure I do every-
thing right for the lil guy.
Thank ya'll so much for all the wonderful help and advice.
Ya'll rock!
Thanks again!
Warmly
