Those of you who know my tank will probably know about me upgrading my lighting from 2 to 3 WPG. I was planning on buying a pressurized co2 system too but none were to my specification so I'll order one over the net.

Anyway I bought the new tubes and ballast today so here's some pics.

This is my original setup

New setup - The Life-glo is hidden under the Dennerle reflectors, a bonus too because it saved on buying an additional reflector.

This has gives me a total of 5 tubes squeezed into my Juwel Rio 125 - totalling 99W of light. Here's a pic of the hardware running it all. The top extension cable is connected to the timer running all the light and heater cable. The lower extension cable runs the heater and filters (Juwel internal and Fluval 204 external).

Ta mate. What do you think about keeping the light/nutrient balance? The increase in light is quite big so I'm assuming I'll have to increase my co2 to compensate or do you reckon that sticking to 20 mg/l will be ok.

It's only been an hour since the new lights have been working and everything pearling like mad, the tank looks like a fizzy drink!! Can you have too much O2?!!

Too much O2? Nahhh. Don't think so, and it won't exactly be harmful either would it? What sort of CO2 system are you running now?

Hey gf225

Ive been looking for a co2 system myself and this is the best deal i have found on the net

http://www.paraquatics.co.uk/paraquatics%2...html&lang=en-gb

On another site that was over £200

There was some JBL proffi 3's on ebay last week, this setup controlls the PH aswell, it went for £165 each which isnt bad considering they are £400 each in the shops

Maestro- Nice one!

Discomafia - I'm still using two Nutrafin yeast systems.

I went shopping today but both shops I tried didn't have the spec I wanted; Night shut-off solenoid and Bubble counter. They could order me them but it's much cheaper over the net.

Well that deltec one you can turn off at night, im gettign it as xmas pressie to myself....lol :p

What exactly does a bubble counter do? is it used for seeing how many bubbles you want per sec?

Is the Deltec a disposable cylinder? if so how much are they?

That's exactly right about the bubble counter.

I'm thinking of getting a JBL Proflora CO2 Set Vario 500 Profi Set 2 for £160. Try this link mate.

Wow they've changed their price on the deltec, that was the site that had it listed at over £200! maybe it was a typo

The jbl is a refillable canister
The Deltec disposable

Disposable's cannisters cost about £10 each and when i phoned they said they usually last about 4-6 months

The refillable ones you go a welding store and get them to refill it, from reading up each refill is a little bit cheaper than buying a disposble so over a period of time you can save your money the problem is i dont know a welding store and it seems like hassle :/

By the way if your ever after planted tank equiptment i highly recomend this site, theyve always answered all my emails straight away and been very helpfull

thats looking amazing, bet you can't wait until you have to get to the water
Too true!! Actually it's not too bad, the Juwel light-bar lifts straight out for easy access. Once a week the whole lot will come out for water change etc.

Maestro - Cool site, never heard of it before. Ta

Here's a quick snap of my Cardinals, you can see the plants pearling nicely.

Edit- Maestro - My LFS does refills at £9.95

Thats alot of light tubes Gf!

Do the additional ones just rest on the brace of the tank?

hey George,

Looks good, I take it the 24" tubes just fit into the tank?

I have 2 sets of Jbl proflora, i think no2, i think the highest version is probably unecessary. it works well and i do not have to change the canisters for quite a while,~3-4 months.

These are on two large ~400 ltre aquariums.

I am just wondering are you getting the urge to go bigger afterall your success with the 125?
