Here'e a recent pic of my planted 34 gallon. The Cardamine lyrata is growing nicely and will fill the right corner soon and the Hygrophila polysperma is filling the left nicely too. The Echinodorus tennelus (micro sword) is slowly but surely carpeting, the leaves are turning a reddish colour which I'm surprised at as I only have 1.8 wpg.

I can't wait until Saturday when I do some serious shopping and upgrade my lighting by adding another 36 Watts; a Dennerle Special-Plant and Hagen Life-glo giving me 3 wpg. The icing on the cake will be the new pressurized co2 system, either a JBL or Dennerle. Best I buy some new pruning scissors too!!

Hope you like it. Those of you who have seen my tank before may of noticed that the background is a darker blue too, I think it looks more natural.

Very very nice.

Could you tell me the name of the plant which is about the 4th from the left which has small needle type leaves?
Probably been asked this many times before but what lighting are you running over it?

I love planted tanks , yours looks great  .

Nitro,

Thanks. I think you mean either the Java fern attached to the bog wood or the microsword in the foregorund.

Look at my profile for lighting.

Nice work, I just love planted tanks
The reason I started my first tank many many years ago was because I found out there were live plants.
I really love what you did.

Oh goodie, you switched to a darker background, me likey :fun:
It was good before, now it's even better

Thanks guys. Tear-scar - I've just seen your 10g pics. Very nice and natural looking, defininitely Amanoesque. I've personally tried to keep a natural look with a view to keeping a little uniformity. I find it more pleasing on my western eye (a. In essence I've tried to balance the Dutch and Amano styles to my own taste. Hope this makes sense. :D

Very nice.... :D .. I think i'm going to start a planted tank on my 10 gallon....thanks for the inspiration....

gf225,

I have the same tank as yours and i see that you have 3 light tubes. Could you tell me how you added the 3rd tube to the tank as i would be very interested to know?

Or do you not use the ballast supplied with the juwel tank?

Thanks.

Nitro,

The 25w 30" T8 just sits at the front of the tank resting balanced on the centre strut. I use an Arcadia magnetic ballast, I'm adding another 2 tubes this weekend too. I'll post some photos soon so you'll be able see exactly.
