you know i like to do this trick with some ballons i like to suck in just a little bit of helium and talk like mickey mouse tho not many adults actually think of getting helium ballons just for that. we have helium in big tanks at work but its not worth doing if its not from a baloon... "follow the yellow brick road"

Incedently can anyone tell me why after time Helium balloons will deflate and loose their "floatability" ? I would imagine it has something to do with air pressure outside the balloon forcing the Helium through pores?? or something but I am no physist. Thanks if anyone can help!!

i think its because helium has a smaller partical size that is why it makes it thru the rubber quicker alltho air also makes it out it just takes longer thats why the office party looks so bad in january

I used to like doing the helium inhaling too, until I found out how dangerous it can be......not as much so out of a balloon...but your lungs can actually explode because of the pressure you are putting on them....so I don't allow kids to inhale helium from my tanks or balloons....I could be sued, so I have to be careful there!

Good question Will....I am not exactly sure why....but I know it does have something with the make-up of the latex balloon and oxygen eventually takes the place of the helium....and that takes the floatability away.......the larger the balloon...the longer it floats. and the foil, or mylar balloons last much longer because the makeup is different and it holds the pressure better.
Helium stays good in the canister because it is preasurized...no air can get in.
Is that clear as mud?

That is why my balloons are so popular........I use air filled balloons in all the arrangments I posted pics of....except the release....and they last forever!!!
I sent a Valentine Balloon arrangment to my sons class in February....and I talked to the teacher this week and she said it was still up in the class....it just got a little smaller.
They last at least 2-3 times longer than a good quality floral arrangment.

DG.......cool graghic......I have part of that one......I use it on my business card....I have been know to wear big shoes and a red nose too!! That is how the whole balloon thing got started...I went to clown school!!

Tanked...I did my parents 50th anniversary last year....I love doing elegant balloons, they are my favorite because no one thinks balloons can be classy....but I can make them look very classy!

I also thought of doing balloons over ebay...I did several test shippments to see if the balloons would make the trip......I shipped about 6 arrangments, and never once had a popped balloon....but I just don't have the space to work out of my home like that.

A not so funny story - my m8 and his wife were doing a surprise party so they got a cansiter or helium. And his wife wanted to inhale some helium so her voice would go squeeky. So instead of using a balloon, she went straight for the canister. And it wasnt the small canister, it was the big ones which come up to your shoulder

My m8 had a FIT cos she could easily of killed herself!
