Added my third female to the tank this morning. She's been in quarantine and just had her cories for company up to now. She started flaring straight away and the bully Roxy was terrified of her and started zipping round the tank. Scarlett who had put up with Roxy nosing her around just submitted to Fleur straight away. No nipping of fins so far but Roxy never nipped Scarlett even though she did boss her around.

Here is a picture of Fleur. Not very clear I'm afraid. Her tail is quite spikey so I was wondering if she's a crowntail. Its different from my other girls.

This was sooo cute

Roxy was hiding in a plant so Scarlett joined her

"Do you think she can see us?"

Best of luck with your community  ...wish me luck with mine as well. :p

Thanks Mike :D

How's your community going? everyone getting along?

It seems Roxy is now back in charge in my tank as Fleur has given way to her

A suggestion on multiple pics...Use a picture program to make pics smaller, and then open in Paint. You can "paste from" in Paint...and add pictures to your original . You can add all you can fit..then save. you might have to make this group smaller also for the site to allow you to upload it .

Thanks Seahorse

Was so funny to see them so close together and still

Thanks for that pic tip fisherman will give it a go next time :)

I put 20 of them in a 33 gallon....was going to have cichlids in there, but thought..."what the heck" and tried it again. Seems to be working awesome! Everyone except for the 2 oldest girls are getting along just fine (had to put one in a holder, while the other patrols around it, basically showing off)....lots of follow the leader and such....biggest line so far was 5...adorable. One even has her own spot in the tank already, in a cave, under the bogwood...and she flares at the others whenever they even come near.....of course they swim away. Glad they are being so passive....only time will tell though.

Now for the army of cories..... ;)

That just made me all fuzzy inside. Oh, the cute!

Wow Mike you have 20?

I have mine in a UK21 gallon which is around 25US? (not sure of the conversion) Was thinking of putting 6 in there along with 6 cories. Thought that would be my limit as I'm guessing I count each one as 2" fully grown? Its definitely been a bit calmer in there now there's 3 of them. Looking forward to finding some more lovely colours :) and also adding to my cories

I like the idea of 5 of your girls in a line

Hi Joby,

Nice fish you've got there :D :D.

Many greetings from the Netherlands,

Joep

Your females are so cute Joby!

Freshmike: Wow! 20 females! Sounds fantastic. I'll have to start putting ideas into my husband's head about a community female tank. :shifty: :)
