Then I found out about nanofilters. Hey! What a neat idea! Let's see what I can do with the 2.5g. Maybe turn it into a for real small aquarium.
No gravel in this one since I had headaches with cleaning the tank when it was unfiltered. Four white clouds were the next inhabitants. Only a plastic/silk plant was added for decor. The kings were moved to their own .5-gallon containers.

A couple of months later, I got a 5.5g and moved the 2.5er to my room.
I moved Buttons from his filtered 1g Aquavase and moved him into the 2.5er with the two otos. Jewel[RIP] went to the Aquavase. The tank has gravel, a deco, a tiki and a plastic plant. It was like this for a little over 2 months.

So today, I clipped the long dying stems of the amazon sword (it was sprouting a baby sword right in the middle - is that how they grow?). Got rid of one of the three mondo grass thingys (it was dying) and bought some bushy things (anybody know what they are?) and an artificial cave and I finally reached nirvana.... For now..... 
Buttons is the only inhabitant. I moved the otos to the 5.5g because it's now an alage farm. 
What fish for Buttons as playmates? They will share this home:

Wow, itty - I though it was really cute before, but it looks truly wonderful. One word of warning, though - I don't know what that plant's called but I think I had one once, and it constantly shed all over the tank, a real pain in the patootie. If it starts to do that you could always just get a new bunch, I suppose. Anyway, looks great. I'm loving the new cave.

yea, if i did that with my tanks u'd see the same, constand change month after month your final tank looks awsome! that is onse very lucky betta fish

Hey Itty I got a question,
How did you find a light to fit on such a small tank and a nano filter? Ive been looking for one for a looooooooong time for my 3 2.5 gallon (us gallons) tanks.
Man I would die to have my 3 2.5 G tanks to look that good,,,,, mine are just like......ugly
