Here is one of my 3 pictus catfish that are currently residing in my 50Gallon tank and will soon be moved to my 57Gallon tank. This was a nice picture so i decided to post it.

Cool, I never see mine :D It looks different than mine do, yours has less spots that are more spaced out :) Nice to see a pictus :p

Mine are always all over the place, swimming so fast then stopping, then swimming about again!

As far as I know there are 2 types of pictus cat. One is Columbian - the type I have, and the other is Peruvian. It is possible that you have the Peruvian variety.

Ben :)

Bunji - WOW! you musta been skilled to get that photo! my pictus never stop swimming! and they swim so fast!

Dwarfs - How much pictus do u have?

Yes there was an element of luck involved, keeping the camera poised at the spot that it kept stopping at after swimming about the tank. Hence he isnt dead centre etc. I was really surprised it came out so clear!

Couple more pics, again using the same method of waiting until the fish comes round to rest in the same spot :)

Briliant Pics.... :kewlpics:

I love pictus

I have 4 and wish i could get them to stop long enough for my (crap) camera to get a picture....
You can just see the head of one in the pic in my sig (behind the plec).
Thats the most infocus one i got!!!

You have inspired me to sit patiently by my tank tonight and get some goodies!!!

Nice one

Good stuff, its always good to be patient when taking pictures.

I sometimes use my sisters tripod (she was a phography student at uni). This also helps alot for closeup fish pictures.

Yeh hes 7" but I havent seen any evidence of him going after other fishes...yet :)

Hopefully by adding lots of bogwood so that there is reduced line of site and lots of terratories/caves etc. for the catfishes to hide in, I will have minimal problems.

Ben

p.s. where did you take yours back to?
