Is is possible she has bashed into some thing?

It could just be a fish equivalent of bruising. :dunno:
I've not seen anything like it in my disease research.

I don't think so. :dunno:

It seems to be peeling and she is having a terribly difficult time breathing...turning upside down and poking her whole head out of the water and such. Very much like Joby's female was doing in her thread...... :/

Not sure, but I think if it were that, she would be missing part of her body....but her mouth seems to be fully intact under this mess.....Ugh I hope she makes it. I have lost too many fish and don't want to lose new ones too.

The best thing I can suggest is to warm the water in her bowl or tank up, add salt, and pray.

Call your LFS and describe the symptoms, they would have a good chance of knowing wwhat it might be and how to treat it. My LFS is great for that.

Overhead view.

looks like mouth fungus to me...

one of our corrys got it and although he was fine in himself, he couldn't eat and died :(

we tried treating but failed.

Columnaris (mouth rot, mouth fungus, 'flex')
I agree, but columnaris is a bacterial infection, which can be confused with a fungus, in certain stages. This is what I found. I think it is columnaris too.

External Bacterial Infection
Symptoms: There are a great deal of possible symptoms associated with this disorder. There may be spots on the body which appear red or orange. Watch for red streaks on the surface on the body. Dropsy (bloating) is also a sign of a bacterial disorder. "False Fungal Infections" look like fungus but is actually a bacterial infection known as Columnaris. These symptoms may include a white or gray film on the body.

Notice the "look like a fungus"..and the "gray film on body"

Later on.....
