They are beautiful fish, I would love to have some when I get another tank, I just don't know a lot about them, (water condtions, tank size, compatiable tank mates, etc.) but maybe I'll research some more about them as my LFS has some that are beautiful, maybe they'd go good in a 20g long?

No, they get way too big for a 20g. They get to 4-6" and need lots of swimming room. They should be in a 40g minimum.

Also, they're schooling fish and should be kept in groups of 6+ of each species with the proper male/female ratio. Keeping a few of each kind can be disasterous for your tank. I learned the hard way when they killed or picked on EVERYTHING, even a severum :/

Not every rainbow gets that big
I saw the Boesemanis, Turquoise (lacustris) and Red (glossolepis) in his siggy. Those get to 4, 5 & 6 inches respectively. I didn't see the Praecox in there, they only get to 2.5"

I have had neon dwarf rainbows for over a year and they only chase harmlessly after each other and are no bigger than a swordtail. Mine completely ignore all of the other fish, even during feeding. They are underrated as well, I believe. Mine are quite active, but no brains or curiosity. Good to have some fish with movement and some fish with curiosity. Get the right bulbs to make them look even better.

He's talking about threadfins [iriatherina werneri ]and , pseudomugil and popondetta species. They stay smaller [roughly 1 1/4" to 2 "], but seem to be hard to find [ or I would have some  ].

And yes , Rainbows are under rated .

rainbows fish are nice, what kind are those ones? i have two dwarf neon rainbow fish and 2 australian rainbowfish. (i know one of them is the dwarf neon rainbow)

The next time i start a tank its going to be rainbows all the way. Sadly I only have one tank so it will have to wait.
