For those that have been waiting i finally managed to snap a few pictures of the slopehead before it could get back to its lair, not the greatest pics (as usual) but i hope you enjoy them anyway.

For those that dont know this fish is so rarely imported into the UK that this may be one of only 4 in the country acording to the guy who sold it to me, of course he doesnt know about private imports for collections but as far as wholesalers know only 4 have been bought in in the last 20 years.

Look at that mouth! This fish comes from the family commonly known as gulper cats and some species have been known to swallow fish larger than themselves, fortunately this one can't but it can still swallow food fish up to 6" with ease.

He's a very pretty fish CFC!!!
I can honestly say I'm really really jealous at All the fish you have, really hope that 1 day I'll be able to step of my usual "community fish" and can get some of the beauties you've got! *sigh* ... house first, then fish

 Amazing fish and very very rare. Saying it mouth is like a black hole doesn't do it justice by the looks of things.

last one before it disapeared back under the bogwood.

how big is he

Currently about 8 or 9 inches which should be about half grown but since there is virtually no information available on this fish being kept in captivity no one really knows how big it might get.

 No one knows anything about this fish, even planet catfish have a message in the catelog asking for anyone with information on keeping the fish to submit a profile, the only stuff ive been able to dig up on it is general information on habitat and how the local natives catch them to eat

Hes a Beaut.

His Mouth Reminds me of the Way the Whale Sharks Mouth Is.

Damn It must be so cool in your house.

Once again CFC you have another amazing fish. He looks like a stunner and I bet he's even nicer in the flesh!!
