Bout time for an update, so bear with me, if you're interested. These always get long.
First off, the best news of all. The foerschi have spawned again (3rd time), and the male is still holding. He ate the eggs as the fell the first time, swallowed them overnight the first night the second time, and this time he's been holding for a night and a day. So that's good news. He's slowly progressing. He might swallow them again, but I'm hoping for the best - he's being a good papa so far, tumbling them like a good boy.
Once again, the female took steps to spawn into her own uh.. "fins". She hops the divider whenever she feels like getting it on, and then jumps right back over when she's done. Sure makes it easy for me!! I've never ever seen a smarter fish.
Other good news, the falx babies are starting to take bloodworms. Wuv and Sorrell know of my ongoing struggle with these picky snots. So it's really a big deal. They haven't taken frozen food until now. They're all jarred now too. Good news for those of you waitin on some.
Bad news? Lots. My beautiful veil Huckleberry Fin died.... my crowntail The Dread Pirate Roberts is almost dead, and so is my doubletail female Buttercup. *sigh* I could go into detail but that's just boring to y'all and sad to me. I have so many empty tanks.
Oh wait, can't end on that note, too sucky. The girl who "died"? She's still doing well. Clamped fins still, but swimming around more and more, and her color is getting really pretty.
Here's preggo daddy!!!
