Fin Rot

For those who read my post in Tropical Chit Chat, my platy has a slight torn tail (as a result of getting herself trapped in one of the ornaments....a castle which has now been removed)....which I suspect may have finrot....hard to tell. So she is now in the quar tank with 1tbsp aquarium salt/5 gall along with some Fungusade (for the treatment and prevention of fungal infections)...

Here she is....Day 1 of treatment....

Today she is a bit quiet and was less than impressed when I moved her to the 10gall from the 30gall...she is very quiet but is swimming and still very interested in food....

I can't really tell if it is fin-rot or not... but just incase try to do more water changes and keep on going on with your fin-rot treatment.

Day 2....she is acting very quiet but perhaps she is lonely. If she still looks sad tomorrow I will put her friend in with her. She is swimming around when I look at her and eating normally (typical platy)....

Not much seems to be happening with the tail but it isn't getting worse.....fins crossed....

OH....the white looking thing on her is a reflection from the tank lid....

Ouchies she lost a good chunk of tail. I hope she gets better fast.

Here she is....Day 3.....she is starting to hate the camera and hides whenever I go near the tank with it

She was looking a little bored last night so I put her boyfriend in there....that is, Akhtar, the male red platy. He annoys her and they are constantly chasing each other away but that is married life I guess

The tail fin seems to have grown back a bit....it is looking more spikey now as the rays get longer. I can see growth between the rays where there was nothing 2 days ago...

She is going to be OK!!!
