My 3 bettas 2 in a double tank and one in a large vase are having problems with their fins. they got fungus so I used bettafix remedy (which I have always used for this problem without problems. Well now my crowntail betta has lost his top (dorsal?) fin completely and has a big reddish pink sore on his back his tank buddy (seperated by wall) is losing pieces of his pins they are floating in the water. I did a water change of about 70% but they don't seem to be getting better. The betta in the vase is not as bad looking he lost one of the front long fins but is not so active. his color is not so bright. All three of them do not flare (especially my poor little crown tail). One is happy he is blowing his bubbles but the other 2 are miserable. what should I do? what is causing this and will their fins grow back?

hmm.... sounds like fin/tail rot to me.. the reddish pink sore hmm.. hard to say what that is..

ive never used bettafix so im not sure how good that stuff is.. but you said youve used it before and it worked..

try adding aquarium salt.. i usually add about a pinch of salt a week to my tanks... and betta containers...

salt should help, but it sounds to me like they have it pretty bad..

i would just keep doing water changes every 2 days maybe.. keep medicating and adding salt, and hopefully they will survive

good luck

here is a pic of my crown tail and other betta they are experiencing heavy fin loss crown tail lost his top fin overnight.

definately treat it as best as you can, and do water changes also
