Can anyone identify our Danio please?

Hi

We recently bought some Danios from our LFS. Two of them came from the same tank - labelled "Assorted Danios" - although most of them looked like leopards, as indeed the other one that we bought does.

However this one has very different markings to any pictures we have seen. He is also much smaller than the other - despite them being of simlar size when we got them.

Can anyone help with identifying it.

Looks like a leopard danio to me, mine had similar markings.

Because they often don't know and sometimes will even make up a name to cover their ignorance!

Fufanu, we did ask the lfs and, they told us we were buying Leopards and Bengals out of that tank! The two Bengals they also sold us at the time were sold to us as Blues. They also told us that these fish, as well as two Black Shadow Tetras and two Pristellas, would be fine for cycling our tank with! Just goes to show, even when you do ask, you don't necessarily get good advice. I've since learnt to be very cautious what I ask at the lfs and what I take care to learn before I go there. BTW, we won't go to that 'supermarket' for fish anymore.
