So I had Wrigley in a spawn tank, I released the girl and watched them for a couple hours and they were fine. Then I checked on them every hour or so till about midnight, then I went to bed. All was fine. This morning when I went out to check them, she has ripped him to shreds. Literally. He looks like one of the fought VTs I saved at Wal-Mart :/ I vased her and then mixed up some bettamax for him, but he does not look good. :-(

On one hand I feel so stupid for letting them stay out together all night, but then on the other hand I have a pair of plakats in together who are both fine this morning. Ugh, hindsight bias...just kills ya (and your fish)

Sorry to hear that,Sorrell.The girls can be so tough sometimes,especially if they're ready to spawn and the male is putt putting around :( Don't blame yourself,hopefully he'll be fine. Who wants to say they were beat up by a girl? He has no choice but to recover :p
 
Ack!!! Sorry to hear that Sorrell, but don't beat yourself up over it, most breeders leave their fish in together overnight...you just can't sit there and watch them 24/7. This does happen, it's all part of breeding fighters, so don't blame yourself. They're tough fish though, so keep his water especially clean and he may pull through yet.

Awww Sorrell, dont blame yourself, the lil madam was obviously being overly sexed and he wanted a gud nights kip to go at it again in the morning!

Im SURE he will recover, and look his best again !!! hes a tough lil guy, hey, he obviously loves her, or is just a propper gent, as he hasnt fought back!

Keep us updated, as im sure it will be a great sucess story!
 
I know it's ususally fine to leave them overnight, but I think I should have made other plans considering that he had such a hard time swimming :X

sry sorrel, he'll recover im sure, that female rely messed him up good :D its rely impossible to watch em 24/7 and its not ur fault, tuff likle this happens. im sure wuv and all the other breeders have had it happen to them to. :)


Lol joker im glad u keep track of BL spam cause i lost track about a month ago :lol:
