I used to have a baby snapper which I found by a river next to my house. It would try to bite me whenever I picked it up. We kept it in an old terrarium for a couple of weeks and then let it go.
We also have a very large female snapper that lays her eggs on our lawn every year. One time she even dug up a huge hole in our driveway trying to find a spot for the eggs.
During the summer he accually lives in my neighbor's pond, LOL! I put all my snappers in there. But I'm the one that takes care of them. During the winter they come in to their 100 gallon tank. I also have 2 eastern Painted Turtles. Hot StuffGal, I majored in herpatolgy in College. PM with with any quetions you have.
