Gold Ram Acting Weird?

Seachem Metroplex contains Metronidazole and that is used for treating internal protozoan infections in fish.

Seachem focus is an antibiotic, This might damage filter bacteria but I'm not sure so monitor the ammonia and nitrite levels and if you start to get readings above 0ppm, then it does.

Neither of those 2 medications will treat intestinal worms so you will need to find Flubendazole if the fish has worms.

Is the ram really skinny in the belly area?
The picture makes it look sunken in. If that is the case, how long has it been sunken in around the belly?

Here's another video. He started farting around the tank so I tried to film it. I caught him doing it once more before he stopped.

Ok, shoot. I will go get some. I was patting myself on the back for having the meds.

His belly isnt sunken that I can tell, but definitely inflamed around the vent. The pic I posted doesn't show it that well. These 2 show it better and if u zoom in something seems to be sticking out of his vent- little hairs it looks like.

Yes Camallanus thread worms and a lot of them. All your tanks will need treating at the same time. You can use Levamisole or Flubendazole. Levamisole only treats round/ thread worms. Flubendazole treats round and flat/ tape worms.

You treat the tank once a week for 3-4 weeks (I prefer 4) so you kill any baby worms that hatch from eggs.

Do a 75-90% water change and gravel clean the substrate 24-48 hours after treating. Clean the filter too.

Keep the feeding up for a month after deworming so the fish can recover faster.

Section 3 of the following link has more information about deworming fish.

I found Levamisole (Fritz Expel-P), but could not find flubendazole. Treated tanks yesterday. Will update as it goes- thanks for the help!!

You should see the worms being expelled a few hours after treatment. Sometimes the worms hang on and don't get expelled easily. If that happens feed the fish a lot of food (so it's completely full). The food should help push the worms out of the fish.

Looks like they are coming out but some are hanging on. I am feeding them heavy and he's eating so knock on wood. Later I'm going to look hard at the other fish to see if others look the same. Either way, treating all the tanks and my nets too.

You will need to a do a second and third dose anyway and I like to do 4 doses in total to make sure all the worms and their babies are gone.

He's looking better. Not on bottom here- he saw me and came up expecting food, but on bottom much more. Acting normal. 2n

d dose coming in a few days. Also, the other tanks are looking good. Fingers crossed!

Ok now I am thoroughly confused. I changed the water yesterday and treated for the worms for the 2nd time. Overnight 3 amano shrimp and 2 fish (red eye tetra and flame tetra) died. What the heck? I'm thoroughly confused now.

Ram and all remaining fish look fine and are eating fine.

I think I should change water again to get that stuff out of there. Note that I did 2 50% water changes since the 1st dose.

Was the new water dechlorinated before it was added to the aquarium?

How much time did you leave between the water changes?
You need to wait 24 hours between water changes if you do multiple changes.

Did you overdose the tank?
It's pretty hard to overdose with Levamisole but it can happen. Small fish show symptoms of overdosing before bigger fish do. They act nervous and skittish. A small water change (5-10%) usually fixes it if it is overdosing.
