This is one of my favorite tanks, but having a little color to the water, and being heavily shaded by Pothos vines, with the fish being smaller, means I don’t notice the day to day changes… there are 2 male Emperors, ( Palmeri ) in the school, in this tank, of mostly juvenile fish, that are getting pretty nice looking, if fact, all are really doing well… Cardinals are settling in nicely

These 2 males are going around flashing each other this morning, even though the rest of the school are all much less mature ( a 2nd purchase ) hopefully some are females ) right now the biggest in the rest of their shoal, is about half their size… but these guys have the longest “trident tails” of any of my trident tail fish…
Sorry for the poor picture quality, but the conditions, are meant for the fish, not viewing, or picture taking…

These 2 males ( pictured above ) were the last 2 the supplier had ( the reason for the 2nd purchase later ) and were both pretty beaten up, when they arrived here, now in their forever home, they have healed up, and colored up, and it’s easy to see why they are popular…

I’d like to add a shoal of Nematobrycon lacortei ( a similar tetra ) to this tank, but the timing hasn’t worked out, whenever they’ve been in stock ( which is almost never )

Experimenting with taking some low light pictures… this is the whole tank, but being darker, I ended up with a reflection, on the left side, from the tank beside it… the camera gathers a lot more light, and with a filter, I can almost make this tank look a normal brightness… I may have to try this again, without the main light on, in the neighboring tank…

Of course in the 1st try, the blue zebra lace angel, even as big as it is, was not visible… a 2nd try, same settings… a little different angle, so less reflection from the other tank… it’s hard to pass a final judgement, when looking at them through a cell screen…

Afternoon in the shady tank…on the last picture, I turned off the neighbors light, long enough to take the picture

@gwand …Deception… a couple plastic plants, and one small bunch of Java fern, 2 -2 year old Pothos vine roots, and 6 starter pot sized Peace Lilies, hanging on the back… anything else you are seeing is on the printed background…

I typically try to blend the tank decor, with the background, to give it a deep, 3D effect…

Tetras just waking up this morning, after 1st light… most sit on the bottom, in this half of the tank, at dark…
