Hi Everyone, This is Tigs, he's a 4 month old L397 Tiger Pleco. He's currently around 6cm long and growing fast! His favourite foods are cucumber, zucchini, black worms and wood. Tigs loves swimming out of his cave and surprising the bronze corydoras as they swim past. I've loved watching Tigs' confidence growing as he matures.

Well, I was going to quit doing contests, not to be antisocial, but because my photography skills are so lacking… well OK, one more… this is my male Phenacogrammus aurantiacus, on top, ( the 3 fish with blue eyes ) with his 2 girls under ( 2nd fish from the top in this photo, is the male, and the fish I’m entering )… they are a wild caught African Tetra these were listed by the seller as “Lefini River”they are in a dark water tank, with several other species of African Tetras, and I’ve had these 3 for close to 2 years now… top fish in the confirmation photo

Young adult Apistogramma cacatuoides orange flash who recently spawned with his mate. This is his second spawning and he’s doing a better job of guarding the brood. His favorite food are blood worms.

This is one of two of my oldest Sawbwa Resplendens (Asian rummynose). I got this fish back in Oct '22. This fish was used in my Sawbwa Breeding project the following year after I managed to find a female. He is the most dominant and most friendly fish in that tank. Being the only fish in that tank to wait and hover at the front whilst I'm nearby, most likely waiting for Fluval bug bites (his favorite). He even isn't afraid of the DSLR or iPhone unlike his compatriots. His age is probably 3yrs to 3'1/2 now (expected 5).
He now resides in his 90L retirement home with 9 other Sawbwa

This is one of my five glass catfish or Kryptopterus vitreolus.
They live in my fuval Roma 125 and are incredible to watch but an absolute pain to photograph. During the day they all stay grouped up in one spot but as soon as I turn my main light off they jet around the tank too fast for my camera to focus. I feed them once a night with either fuval bug bites or organix colour flakes. They even eat from my hand. They are a really cool and underrated oddball.

Here is my Sparking Gourami. It was part of a group, but is the last remaining survivor. It is less then an inch long, so is not the easiest fish to photograph. It lives in a 20g aquarium with a elderly Cherry Barb, a hitchhiker fish that I have not identified, and some Amano shrimp. It feasts on Bug bites daily and sometimes some mosquito larvae.

This is my electric blue Johanni , his name is johanni of course. He lives in a 55 gallon mbuna tank with a mess of other mbuna. He is by far my favorite fish I own , one of the ones I’ve had the longest also. I love his personality , he has his cave and his front lawn and after dinner if you go on his lawn be ready to be chased off of it. His diet is a mixture of xtreme peewee cichlid pellets , spirulina flakes , and brine shrimp once a week. He also loves me , hence why he’s the only one even acknowledging me.

Known from being small but brilliant. It does not have a name and can not be told apart from its mates. For that reason I can not guarantee if it’s one of the two tetras who are now over 4 years of age. But here it is nonetheless, being precious entertainer and a valuable companion to cheer the day and make me amazed. It is an adorable, very tiny fish (about 3cm), which is very undemanding and gives lots of pleasure to look at!


CARE:

Once a day, my EHEIM flake feeder makes a turnaround and just like that, it’s fed. I might opt it out to make more effort and scrap some frozen daphnia for it sometimes. The rest of its care in the 54 litre tank, like the aquarium conditions, are automated and hum so quietly I can’t even hear it. Only a maintenance needs to be done and despite of this fact it is very hardy and has put up with me on my long maintenance breaks when I’ve been away for long periods in the Summer. I’ve monitored that the tank water has remained in a good condition despite of this and the reason is the next: another awesome feature of this lovely tiny entertainer is that I have never ever seen it poop! Seems that it consumes little and releases even less to pollute the water. Despite of this it swims actively.


BEHAVIOUR:

It is a social little fish, who stays always in the company of others alike. At times it moves closer looking at what I’m doing if I’m close to the aquarium, though the initial reaction of it is to speedily swim hiding once I move in the room closer to it. I think both of these reactions are adorable, since the hiding tells of a nature of a real normal outdoor fish: how it would naturally react in the wild. So I feel like having a real piece of wild nature at my home to admire! While at the same time, still possessing as well the interest about its “caretaker/roommate”: coming closer to check me out if I’m still. Another thing adding to its awesomeness is that it does not bother any other fish in the tank. It adds to the serenity of its environment, which is a great plus. I like to watch it shoal with others day or night. Its bright colors are a stunning spectacle.

Hello everyone! This is my Pea Puffer named Puff. I got him at the beginning of this year so he's about a year old. He lives in a planted 5 gallon right now and doesn't have any tank mates. His favorite foods are bloodworms and snails. His favorite hobby is begging for food and watching me put away laundry. When I got Puff he was very shy but now he's gotten a lot friendlier with my family and I.

Hey everybody, this is Niska, my Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus cirrhosus). I named her this because of the suited origins of the name that denote a river or rapids. I thought this was suitable as the species originate from fast flowing streams. I got her from a tiny fry but she's now about 3 inches long. Being a female, she has never developed any large bristles but has a set of bristles in each snout that are always visible when feeding. I usually feed her algae flakes and a mealworm tablets.
I occasionally feed her courgette. Niska has been a resident of all my three tanks over the space of 4 years so I presume she must be nearly 5!
First with my 30L then my 60L and now finally my 125L. She lives with an assortment of algea flake eating barbs so has much practice in flaunting her fins to warn them off when it is her turn to eat the alega flake. Recently, I have purchased a Yo Yo Loach and they now seem to be partners in crime when aqiurieing food. I find my Pleco's behaviour most unique because of the way it has adapted - becoming friends with other fish even when having been alone as a catfish for most of its life.

This is one of my 4 chocolate cichild (known as Hypselecara temporalis); she and her mate are caring for their youngs of which have been free swimming for approx 13 days. Since she is such a good parent i don't have to intervene in caring for the babies. When the other fishes in the aquarium approach she just looks at them and they swim the other way; what you see on her is saw dust from the wood that many of the fishes chew on.

If you would like some little pieces of chocolate you can stop by with your net and catch a few.

Other than the pit they dug in the plants they have been very kind to the foilage and other fishes in the aquarium (as long as they stay far away)

This is one of my empire gudgeons (Hypseleotris compressa) . It takes quite long before a male develops the intense colors. The males look like females for quite a long time. And those colors become more prominnent when they start courting. They're in my community tank in our livingroom. This is one of my largest males.
I keep them at room temperature with livebearers such as the knife livebearer (Alfaro cultratus) and the butterfly splitfins (Ameca splendens).
Although, their appearance may seem as if they're dominant or even aggressive fish but actually they're quite friendly. And when it starts to become a bit to vivid in the tank, they start to hide.
This is one of my favorite fish that ain't a livebearer...
