Should i be concerned about silicone?

this is at the top of a 75 gallon around the rim. I did not know if this would be of concern or not.

It looks like someone added silicone to fix a possible leak. Very messy job.

Did you buy the tank used.

New marineland tank. My bad should've added. Idk if it matter too much, but the water line would be up to the bottom of the rim vs the top. And theres atleaset solid seams and silicone behind the panes and between the rim.
 
To me, it just looks messy. One way to find out if it'll hold. :)
Tha main goal of the inner silicone is to protect the seam isnt it? Just trying to figure out whether i should exchange thisnor not. Of course my aqueon 10 and topfin 50 have clear silicone all the way around at the top
 
ah if it's brand new I would exchange it- it's definitely one that had a mistake whether it's just aesthetic or causes problems down the line- no sense taking chance, I reckon.
