I picked up this 90l tank for free last night. I’m not sure to do with all the plants. It looks like all Java fern. Not sure what the second picture is, the one with curly leaves. It’s like a jungle! Do I need to thin them out and if so do i need to do it carefully as there is such a tangle of roots

Definetly Java ferns, as for that second plant It's hard to tell. I was thinking of a possible hygrophila species with a possible light or nutrient deficiency to explain the curling.

From the line along the leaf, I was thinking salicifolia since it also has a narrow leaf varient

Of course, I can be 100% wrong 😄

You can thin them out to encourage new growth as for the roots you can also thin them out but I usually just leave them
