Why do manufacturers feel the need to change their products?

Thanks for the information. What are you going to get instead?
What do you think of New Life Spectrum Optimum? I suspect the wheat flour is less than ideal...but the rest looks good?

Some degree of terrestrial grains are unavoidable. They use them for binding. You just have to find something with as little as possible. In this case, only one of the top five ingredients is pretty good. Especially looking at the rest.

I can only find 90 g and 600 g sizes. My current tub of Oase is 40 g and that will outlast its use by date :(
I only keep a very small amount of my fish food at room temperature. That's in little plastic jars I bought. Here's a couple of them.

I keep the rest sealed up in plastic zip lock bags in the freezer. Then I refill the plastic jars as needed.

Omega was purchased by another company and even though we helped get the company off the ground in the 1990's, they now refuse to sell to anyone who isn't exclusively pets only. I suspect small changes to some of their products over time as well since at the time they bought their first pellet machine, their original formula wouldn't hold together going thru the shaker/screen part that forms the pellets unless they altered the formula with lower digestible grain additives. They also used to manufacture a couple of Ocean Nutrition's formulas for them. I shipped fish food back in the 90's to some online customers and the ingredients label alone had Australia busting the shipments which meant the customer never got the order and we were out the product. Anyway, they've basically spit in the face of the small town stores that helped build them and we'll now be boycotting them for life and probably Ocean Nutrition as well.
