Red fish ( was a fry ) came in with some feeder “guppies” that were in with a colony of scuds

As it’s getting bigger, looks like a platy to me, but because I have no idea what else it could be???
Any best guesses

It was only less than a cm long, but as orange, as it was, so easy to see, when the scuds, and feeder guppies were all grey

Ya definitely would stand out , mine is a painted platy but I think they look pretty similar

It's a platy or swordtail, it looks a bit long for a platy so could be a swordtail or a hybrid between the two.

It might be the good old "brick swordtail". I agree with Colin - it's a bit stretched out for a platy. The lines are fine, because a lot of the pet store fish are old hybrid forms dating back 50 years or more.

Looks exactly like our two-month-old Sword. My opinion does not mean much because I do not know much though, (but my learning curve is steady as she goes).

Was pretty sure it was a live bearer, but scud farming is kind of like aquatic composting, so could have been an egg on a plant somewhere that got added to the bin…
