Can anyone tell me what this is? Only the nerite has it nothing else in the tank has it.

Never seen that before. It reminds me of the stuff new driftwood gets when added to an aquarium

He's relatively new by about 10 days to 2 weeks.
But now you said that I'm wondering if it's something it caught from me because when I was planting another round of live plants 2 days ago I didn't see him on the gravel and accidentally picked him up in my hands, and this fluff has only appeared since. My hands were washed and well rinsed before I put my hands in the tank but I know human skin has it's own ecosystem of symbiotic bacteria all the same so for all I know it could(?) be that multiplying rapidly now it's been transplanted into a whole new environment.
But - whatever this is, isn't on the plants either.

I think it is just a biofilm growing on the outside of the shell. I wouldn't stress it. In some environments many shell sporting organisms have growths on the outside of the shell.

Thanks all. That's good to know.
Will monitor it and if it doesn't go way in a few days or gets worse I might take him out the tank and give the shell a wipe with some plain kitchen paper. Don't think I can rinse under a tap, ours would just be a nasty shock I don't think he'd survive if I did that.
