Hello, I was just feeding my fish and I noticed that two of my eigth neon tetras have a bubble-like growth at their mouth. All the other fish in the tank look fine. Both of them are pretty active and still swim with the other ones. They are also both still eating but I'm still worried if I should isolate them and treat them or just let them be. I had them since the end of march and they looked fine back then.
My tank is 80L and all of my plants are real. I have 8 neons, a betta and 4 corys (they all get along fine but I'm currently cycling a new tank for my betta).
All the water parameters are fine and I did a water change last Sunday.

It's not neon disease. That causes the blue line to fade and go white.

It's not mouth fungus (Columnairs) because that doesn't produce a bubble/ blister.

How long have they had the bubble?
Can we get some clear pictures of the fish from both sides and the front?
Have you added anything to the tank in the 2 weeks before this started?

It could be a virus that has started appearing on neon tetras during the last few years. It produces a growth on the mouth and slowly gets bigger. There's no treatment for the virus and when fish have trouble eating or swimming, they get euthanised.

Don't bother moving them yet or treating the tank with anything. If you want to do anything for them, try doing a 75% water change and gravel cleaning the substrate every day for a week. That can help reduce the number of disease organisms in the water and that can help improve the fish's health. But if it is the virus, it won't make any difference and all the fish will have it.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.

Have they given this new virus a name?

curious if Cardinals can get it too, or does it effect only neons???

BTW... it almost looks like a parasite??? I would think if it was the fishes skin stretched to that point, being a blister... there would be more deformity???

So far I have only seen it on neon tetras but it could possibly jump species and affect the other types of tetras like cardinals and green neons.

The lump does not look like a parasite that affects fish.

It could be the start of a Columnaris infection in the tank and the early stage appears as a white cyst on their mouths? The picture can make the infection look like a bubble because the fish is moving and the infection is blurred as well.🤔
