I’ve had this girl for about a month now , along with 2 other bichir who are definitely putting on size. I’ve had the other 2 for about 2 months and they’ve grown at least an inch and a half and have gotten way thicker. She doesn’t seem to have grown at all. She is very very young but my delhezi was just a little bit bigger when we first got her and she hasn’t had any problems.

First picture is a month ago , second was this morning

I remember that first picture, and thinking it looked decidedly skinny. Maybe it needs dewormed?

Is it eating well… with the others being bigger, it might not be getting enough food to grow at maximum???

I’ve been trying to find that dewormer because in my sword tail tank one has some hair like “poop”. So I could do it I just need to be able to find it without it breaking the bank and actually finding the write stuff

I “hand” feed them all , the bigger ones get 2-3 high quality pellets and she gets 1 broken in half. I’ll feed half let her eat it then drop the other in. My shrimp tank will be up and running here Friday so hopefully I’ll have some baby shrimp to feed in a few months to switch up the diet a little.

Feed it more variety including frozen (but defrosted) prawn and fish.

Deworm it. Section 3 of the following link has info on deworming fish. If you can find Flubendazole, that will treat all intestinal worms. Otherwise you will need to find Levamisole for thread worms and Praziquantel for tape worms.

I was thinking frozen tilapia also I’ve heard that’s good , and ya flubendazole is so hard to find I’ve been looking everywhere. Are there any api products or prime products that have any of that?

No idea about api or prime products. Just google them and see if they have Levamisole or Praziquantel in. You can also do a search for those 2 medications in your area (eg: Levamisole/ Flubendazole for sale in Perth, or wherever you live).

Amazon has flubendazole. Brand name Cloverleaf. But you need a scale to weigh it out. You can buy that on Amazon for cheap.
