This is the first aquaruim I started back in 2022.
I started without plants and I've gradually tried adding different ones and let the ones that do well grow out.
The current livestock is not the same as what it started with.
Recently battled cyanobacteria but it's looking much better now.

20 Aqueon that is still under construction. This is a first effort at trying to focus on Aqua scaping.

Currently a TopFin 20 sponge filter that was seeded for about 4 weeks. Also, a bag of media that hung out at the bottom of a cycled tank for an equal period.

Rocks were picked up at the local brook and wood is from a Lilac that was destructed by a fallen tree a year ago. Lilac was boiled, debarked, boiled again, oven dried and then burnished with a torch.

Heater will be a 100 watt TopFin that is still in the box. Current temp is 73 degrees, (room Temp).

This tank will house a current crop of guppy fry currently living a 10-gallon Aqueon. They are currently two weeks old and will be moved when this tank has cycled using the Dr Tim method.

Plants are mostly silk, one vinyl if I remember correctly and the moss balls plastic. Linda and I are not ready for the live plant life yet. Baby steps.

The tank was set up on 31st Jan 2024 as a home for my sawbwa fry that I bred. Most plants/equipment were from other tanks, allowing me to add fish quickly, but I have been suffering from algae problems since the start-up. The main types are hair algae, staghorn, and little groups of blue-green algae. 10% weekly water change and no added ferts. Overall plants are doing well and growing slowly.

Inhabitants
13x sawbwa resplendens (10 female, 3 male) :fish:
11x red cherry shrimp
∞ x pond snail

This is my 20 Gallon! I first gained interest in fishkeeping last fall, and I’ve had this tank since November.

Tank Specs:
20 Gallon Long
Fluval HOB filter with pre-filter sponge

1 Pygmy Cory (looking to get more obviously)
3 Cherry shrimp (also looking to get more)
Too many ramshorn snails (currently trying to lose)
My LFS now has Tiger Limia, getting some of those soon? :hmm:

Java moss

Red root floaters (new!)

You can find my journal thread for this tank here.
