Pleco gill....thing....?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone may be able to help. A friend of mine sent me a photo of the pleco she has, with a little yellow "growth" coming from it's gill. I was wondering if some kind of lice or infection, but thought it best to ask some people more experienced before suggesting anything.
She also has a few tetras, guppys and cherry shrimp in there.
