Hi All,

Got a friend who I will help sign up to this forum this week. In the meantime, they are really worried about this Cardinal Tetra. I can get more details tomorrow for you if needed. This is what I know;

- 6 Cardinals with a male Betta in a 19 litre
- Soft water, running at 75 F
- Symptoms are new. Only this fish

That's all I can give you for now, more details to follow.

This person is new to the hobby and is reaching out, and eager to learn. I am sure with the help of the forum we can help facilitate that.

It could be ich or neon tetra disease. If it is ich the whole tank will need to be treated, if it is NTD there is no treatment. You say the symptoms are new, how long has the fish been like this? Is it swimming/behaving unusually? Flashing against objects trying to rub the lumps off? How long has your friend had all of the fish?

The tank sounds overstocked for the size, and bettas should be housed alone, ideally your friend needs to get a second tank to move the tetra into once this has been dealt with.

It's not neon disease and doesn't look like white spot.

How long has the tank been set up for?
How long have they had the fish for?
Have they added anything to the tank in the 2 weeks before this started?

Need more pictures showing both sides of the fish (that are in focus). :)
