My 10 gallon Build Process

Update: All the tetras are alive and doing well, and im going to get 10 Ember tetras today. For some reason though this anubias congensis isn't doing well, any idea why?

Just got the Ember tetras finally!! I didn't realize how tiny and cute they are! I got 10, but I might get one more. The neon tetra that had that weird tumor was breathing heavily and barely could swim when I checked on the tank this morning, so I ended up euthanizing her. So now I only have 8. One of the ivory mystery snails also failed to thrive, but I got a really pretty magenta mystery snail! It's borrowing a lot in the sand, is that normal for mystery snails? The embers have already got their color back after only a few hours.

Also, I added the cherry shrimp into the ten gallon with the neon tetras, do you know when they will start breeding? I don't see any berried ones yet.

Same, but I didn't buy any. But I saw them for the first time recently and they are tiny little things yes!

Here are some tips for your 10-gallon tank project:

  1. Cycling: Use beneficial bacteria and monitor water parameters during cycling.
  2. Aquascape: Arrange ghost wood and rocks for hiding spots and swimming areas.
  3. Neon Tetras: Move them to the larger tank, maintain water quality.
  4. Equipment: Calibrate the heater, consider a timer for your light.
  5. Plant Selection: Choose low to medium-light plants like Java Fern and Anubias.
  6. Maintenance: Regular water changes and plant pruning are crucial.
  7. Enjoy: Building and maintaining your tank can be a rewarding hobby.
Best of luck with your project! Feel free to ask any questions.

How is this one going betta girl? I was just admiring how great your neons look. Probably among the best specimens I have seen on this forum. How they doing?

Thank you! I haven't done an update in a while, so figured I'd do one now. I have 8 neons and 8 embers. @jassmine33 I cannot move them to a bigger tank, as I don't have one and can't get one. This was an upgrade from a 5g. I have a timer on the heater and filter.

The plants EXPLODED, and I'm having to take the salvia and duckweed out every other day. I trim the plants every time a do a WC.

Thank you @AlexT ! They are so pretty, and one of them has a pimple on its mouth. I'm not concerned, If any of you watch Luke's Goldies you will remember one of his goldfish had a pimple just like the one on my neon tetras and it didn't pose a problem. Here's a few pics of the tank now. Neon tetras are like...guppies. can't get a picture of them
