I purchased this guy today as the first inhabitant for my tank for my silent cycle. I read that they like blanched veges such as spinach, kale, cucumber, carrot, etc. But when I dropped a small piece of carrot into the tank, he took no interest??

I've had success with blanched kale and green beans (unsalted), no need to blanch. I've tried cucumber but no interest.

brassicas are fine, but try meatier brassicas.
blanched bok choy or any --- choy has thick leaf bases that everything loves to eat including snails
the base of lettuce also works.
either blanch it, or smash it up so that it's easier for the animals to chew, there really isnt a problem with not blanching it, it is just that they float too much
