I was gifted this by someone leaving the hobby. I'm planning to start another tank for a first proper attempt at aqua scaping. I just wondered what size of tank this is good for.

Thanks

Am I correct in assuming everything needed is I this.. Filter also or have I got to add something myself. I've only used hanging filters provided with the tank before so don't really have a clue.

The item in the pictures is simply a water pump/ powerhead used to circulate water around the aquarium. It needs a filter/ pre filter on the intake to stop fish and stuff being sucked into the impellor.

An AquaClear Quick Filter might fit on it. Then look for a cylindrical filter sponge from an internal power filter to go inside the Quick Filter case. The AquaClear Quick Filter has a fine white sponge in it but it's useless and needs replacing, so getting an actual sponge for an internal power filter is the best option.

-------------------

The power head pushes out around 600 litres of water per hour. Depending on the type of fish you keep, this could be used in a tank that is 3 foot to 6 foot. If you keep fishes like neon tetras from slow moving water, then it will probably be too much water movement for them. However, danios and rainbowfish would be fine.
