Flukes???????

Well. I. Noticed these little baby almost microscopic protusions on my beautiful Lagatha, (Oscar fish). It's a male. We didn't know when we named him. I'll post pic if anyone can help identify what this is.

Need pictures showing the entire fish from the sides.

The white stuff is not flukes, but more likely excess mucous.

Cichlids can get hole in the head disease (aka head and lateral line disease), which is caused by poor water quality and a dirty tank/ filter.

If your concerned about the fish's health, clean the filter, and do a 75% water change and gravel clean the substrate every day for a week. Then do a 75% water change and gravel clean once a week after that.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.
