I’m in Rhode Island so it is a bit of a way. You have a school of silver dollars? I would love to see a photo just the same.

Yeah, a bit of a way. I used to work at a school in Providence while living in SMass. Years back. There were a couple of good stores in Prov., and a couple between there and home. I am happy where I am, but miss the older times some, including my Discus and the Boston Aquarium Society.
Yes, I do keep silver dollar tanks (Metynnis spp. only so far). Four species of Metynnis SD's in two 6-foot tanks at this time, with one tank still in 'coming soon' mode after having been re-imagined a few months ago. I have had success at having SD's in planted tanks (multiple plant species each), perhaps more so that is generally considered typical. I have done it with 4 individual tank setups, each lasting years, now rearranged into the two current tanks. So photos of various configurations, some of them now replaced.
Three of my fish (M. maculatus) are a documented 26 years of age.
I have had only a single male M. altidorsalis named Jesús, very much alive now; he is prob ~10, the last 4 years with me. The last picture is Jesús, showing off.
The two photos before him are the current status of the newest incarnation of the tiger dollars tank (set-up Feb 2023), still developing as plants grow and tank matures. Except for this tank, which currently has 1/2 real, 1/2 plastic plants, all of the other tanks contain 100% natural plants, and the planted communities have thrived!

YOU have beautiful tanks and fish as well. That’s what two of my silver dollars looked like. The first photo. The rest were the all silver ones. It’s a sad story with them. I will tell you more about if you want to hear. Maybe you can give me an explanation on what went wrong…. Cool that you used to live closer by.

I’m very proud of them. The biggest clown was a victim of skinny disease about five years ago. He had recovered and is doing wonderfully. I also like the markings on my yo-yos. Thank you!
