Cory Catfish question

Was wondering the species of my Cory Cats? Was told they were salt and pepper.

Substrate has been changed to only sand.

Common names can be different by region, and shared with other fish too, so it can get confusing. Here in the UK these Corydoras paleatus commonly known as Peppered Cories, and salt and pepper cories are what we call Corydoras hasbrosus. But I've heard other places call these Salt and Peppered.


Yep. Look like Corydoras paleatus. Nice fish. I hope you have a group.

I agree! Corydoras paleatus for sure. @Agrigor , make sure to search for info to use that latin name to get more accurate info.
 
Oh, forgot to mention that these guys like the temperature to be on the cooler side than we often keep many tropical fish tanks at, so just be aware of that and pick other fish as tankmates that also do fine in water on the cooler side.
