Eggs in fry tank

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and feeling pretty baffled at the moment.

I currently have 10 approx 1.5 month old Bn plec fry in my little 25L. I also have some Black Moscow guppies in there that are still pretty young. Today I was peering in the tank and noticed 2 eggs laying on the bottom. They look like BN plec eggs but not quite as orange. My question is, is it possible that my 1.5 month old fry have managed to lay eggs? To me, it seems completely crazy and not possible but I have no other BN plec in there other than the fry. And guppies being a live bearer, as far as I'm aware it's not possible for them to lay eggs. I have no snails, and no other fish in there. The eggs can only be from either of the two. Has anyone encountered this before? I have them safe in a large jar at the moment, not sure if they will come of anything, but I have raised BN plec eggs this way in the past as the parent kicked the eggs out of the cave. The fry in the pic were raised by me due to the reason above. I have attached a pic of the eggs in the jar and my current BN plec fry. Hmmm...hard to tell from that pic, but I'm not certain that these are eggs...they appear flattened (?)

Thanks for the reply, it's really hard to get a decent pic as the jar is also weirdly shaped. I've tried taking another, not sure if it's any better. I'm using a really bright headtorch as my camera flash is terrible. The light is making them look whitish/clear. But they have a yellowish hue under normal daylight, cheers.

Are the plecs 1.5 months old or have you had them for 1.5 months (sorry, have to ask).

It is possible for guppies to lay eggs. It’s rare but sometimes unfertilised eggs can come out when fry are born, or on their own as a result of some kind of miscarriage. I don’t know what they look like though.

Sometimes ovoviviparous livebearers such as guppies can loose some eggs. If that's the case, they're probably not fertilized or at an early stage of embryo development. If the eggs are clear, they're not fertilized for sure. So, it's not that guppies lay eggs but they can loose them.
1,5 Month old BNs aren't old enough to lay eggs.
